From the 27th to the 29th of September, 2017, I'm glad to visit the Institute Jean Lamour (IJL) in Nancy and the LEM3 in Metz to present my work and discuss further collaborations. The metallurgists of these two laboratories, gathered in a "LABoratory of EXcellence Design of Alloy Metals for low-mAss Structures" (Labex DAMAS), have been awarded by the french gouvernement through a special financial support of 7.8 M € over 8 years.
On the 18th of september, 2017, I'll be visiting the RWTH Aachen university, invited by Prof. Sandra Korte-Kerzel, head of the Institute of Physical Metallurgy and Metal Physics.
An article presenting the main outcomes of the ISTRESS ERC project in which I was involved, has been published on CORDIS website.
Taking the stress out of nanomaterials design
EU-funded project ISTRESS has developed a new method for reducing the residual stress, intrinsic to nano-structured materials that should allow industry to improve reliability and strength of manufactured nanomaterials. [...]
I attended the last week (18-23 June 2017) the 24th International Symposium on Metastable, Amorphous and Nanostructured Materials that was held in Donostia-San Sebastian in Spain. I presented my work:
- Irradiation induced amorphization and related intrinsic stress in silicon
- Dislocations content in grain boundaries: from atomistic simulations towards a mesoscale representation
- Atomic Scale Study of Deformation Induced Topological Anisotropy in Silica and Silicate Glasses
